If there’s one word to sum up the Caribbean, it’s ‘paradise’. With its crystal clear waters and sandy white beaches, there’s really no place like it.
And such a beautiful location requires equally as beautiful resorts, so it’s no surprise that the Caribbean is home to some of the best hotel resorts in the world, and we’re going to take a look at five of them now.
Atlantis, Bahamas
Rising up out of the sea like the mythical city that inspires it, Atlantis truly is a sight to behold, towering over the Bahamas.
Heavily influenced by the fictional city which supposedly sank to the bottom of the ocean 11,000 ears ago, this resort is situated on Cabbage Beach, and has an excellent range of activities for its guests to partake in.
For example, why not try snorkelling, parasailing or jet skiing off the coast? The resort also has an impressive 60-foot water slide styled like a Mayan temple called the ‘Leap of Faith’ which shoots you through the resort’s shark-filled aquarium!
Of course, you can just as easily spend your entire holiday just chilling out being pampered!
Sandy Lane, Barbados
This tranquil resort in Barbados is perfect whether you’re off for a secluded romantic getaway or a family holiday with the kids.
There’s plenty to do for adults and kids, but one of the main attractions is reserved for golf fans, with not two, but three gold courses, The Old Nine, The Country Club, and The Green Monkey.
If you’re after something a little more relaxing, try the huge spa, providing the full range of massages, facials and other treatments.
Alexandra Resort & Blue Haven, Turks & Caicos Islands
The Alexandra, and its sister resort, Beach House, are located on the beautiful chain of Turks and Caicos Islands, and their appeal lies primarily in their fantastic location right by the world famous Grace Bay beach.
While they might not have all of the amenities of other resorts, you simply couldn’t pick a better location for chilling out on the world’s best beach (according to TripAdvisor!).
Turks & Caicos is one of the lesser known but more accessible Caribbean islands, only 575 miles south-east of Miami, and is made up of 40 tiny islands, many of them completely uninhabited and is definitely worth a visit!
Hyatt Regency, Aruba
Aruba is located just 15 miles off the coast of Venezuela and is actually a territory of the Netherlands, which means it’s an excellent blend of Dutch, Spanish and Caribbean cultures.
The Hyatt is one of the most popular resorts on the island with a casual elegance and an array of activities such as a golf course, water sports and its own casino!
Ritz-Carlton, US Virgin Islands
Located on St. Thomas, part of the US Virgin Islands with stunning views across the ocean.
For such a small island, St. Thomas attracts an impressive amount of guests and is known for combining an Old World charm with a more modern tropical feel.
With 152 rooms and 15 acres of land, the Ritz-Carlton is the perfect place to stop if you ever visit this stunning island.
