2016 is here. Fresh, with no mistakes. And your soul is fresh, ready to be filled. And we are ready to live full-on devoted to Him. So, let me ask you, how are you going to fill your soul this year?
Because if you don’t fill it with the right things, you will fill it with any old thing.
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8
-First things first. Find a way to make time to be in God’s Word this year.
Might I recommend finding a really good Bible study to pour your heart into this year? On January 11, we are beginning a beautiful study on prayer at Love God Greatly. We would love to have you join us!
Many of you know that I love to read. I am inspired, spurred on, challenged, and encouraged through books. I was only twelve when I first read Through Gates of Splendor by Elisabeth Elliot and it forever changed the trajectory of my life!
-In addition to reading your Bible, I encourage you to have some soul-filling wisdom to chew on.
That’s where The Reading Cafe’ comes in.
Let’s read an inspiring book together each month, and then come back together to discuss.
No big commitment, just knowing that you are reading and gaining inspiration alongside other women.
For January, let’s begin by reading one of my favorite books, You and Me Forever by Francis and Lisa Chan.
Yes, this is a marriage book, but honestly, you can join in and read it if you are single as well! It is that good.
So grab yourself a copy, fill your soul with truth, read it, underline it, savor it, and then at the end of the month, come back and we will chat about it!
I have several books I’m planning to include this year, but I’d love to hear from you.
What book do you think we should include for our reading this year?
What should we read next?
